The Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5 is a British biplane fighter aircraft of the First World War. It was one of the fastest aircraft of the war, while being both stable and relatively manoeuvrable. The S.E.5 was a nimble fighter that has been described as the 'Spitfire of World War One.
This particular aicraft is a replica, which was built in 1995, it represents B595 of 56 Squadron, flown in June 1917 by Lieutenant M E Mealing who gained an MC for his tally of 12 enemy aircraft.
